Until about 10 years ago, mesclun (also called salad mix or gourmet salad mix) was found only in restaurants and specialty produce markets. Nowadays it can be easily bought in supermarkets. It is simply a potpourri of young, small salad greens, most often including arugula, dandelion, frisée, oak leaf lettuce, mâche, and radicchio.
